Welcome to the website for the Timothy McQueen, et al. v. AutoMoney, Inc. and Auto Money North LLC Class Action.

Payments to qualified class members were sent on October 30, 2025.

A $3,000,000 settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit claiming that the Defendants, AutoMoney, Inc. (“AMI”) and Auto Money North, LLC (“AMN”) (collectively, “Lenders”), violated the North Carolina Consumer Finance Act, North Carolina’s Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and North Carolina’s Usury Code, and seeks statutory damages, treble damages, interest and attorneys’ fees, and injunctive relief in connection with loans between Lenders and Class Representatives secured by the Class Representatives’ motor vehicles. Lenders dispute the claims made in the lawsuit and have not admitted any fault in response to the lawsuit or by way of this settlement.

Your Legal Rights and Options in This Settlement
Submit a Claim Form

You must have submitted a claim form in order to participate in the settlement and be eligible to receive compensation. The claim filing deadline has now passed as of May 17, 2025. Late claims will not be accepted.

Do Nothing

If you do nothing, you will receive forgiveness of debt and liens will be released, but you will not receive a direct payment. You will also give up certain rights to sue Lenders.

Exclude Yourself From the Case

This is the only option that allowed you to sue Lenders on your own regarding the legal claims in the case. If you excluded yourself, you will not receive compensation under the settlement and any loan balance will not be automatically forgiven. The deadline for excluding yourself has now passed as of May 12, 2025.

Object to the Settlement

You must have submitted any objection in writing and explained why you did not like the settlement. If you submitted an objection, you remained a Class Member and must have submitted a claim form in order to obtain compensation. The deadline to file an objection has now passed as of December 16, 2024.

These rights and options—and the deadlines to exercise them—are explained further in the Notice and on the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page of this website.
